The Lifeline program was designed to give low-income Washington State residents access to emergency services and employment through free/reduced cost phone service. Eligibility for Lifeline Wireless Service in Washington

To qualify for the Washington State free cell phone program through Lifeline, you just need to participate in one of the following government assistance programs:

  • Aged, Blind, or Disabled Cash Assistance Program (formerly General Assistance)

  • Medical Assistance (incl. Medicare cost sharing program)
  • Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance
  • Head Start programs (income qualifying eligibility provision only)
  • Tribally Administered Temporary Assistance for Needy Families
